As you look around my favorite place, you see nothing but nature. Trees are shading the swingset and slide that I enjoy playing on. As I swing on the swing set, I stretch my foot out to touch the green leaves of a huge oak tree. Just beyond the swings is a rock firepit that is a perfect place to enjoy hot dogs and marshmellows. Many afternoons have been spent here relaxing on a blanket, watching the clouds float through the sky. I enjoy hearing the laughter of my son and husband running through the wooded area, playing hide and seek. Who could ask for a more relaxing place to be!
This place that I am describing is a park near Newton, Kansas. It is a county park that I have been going to for close to 10 years and is actually the place that my husband asked me to marry him. My special place describes my personality well because I love to relax and enjoy my surroundings. I also love spending time with my family in a fun, kid oriented place.

My Favorite Place
As we discussed in class throughout this week, everyone's favorite place is different. Some people go to there favorite place to relax, while others use it to participate in their favorite activity. Take this time to tell us about your favorite place. Be sure to include as many details as you can so we can really picture the special place just like how you are thinking! Once you have described your favorite place, tell us about how this place is unique to you and evaluate how you think this favorite place relates to your personality.
Remember to include "juicy" words in your description. Also, take the time to read your classmates' posts and comment. Your comments should include your stars, or things you really liked about their descriptions, and at least one wish, or something you think they could change or add to make their writing better.
